My Little Free Library is installed

So, as the few readers of this blog will know, I became co-host of a Little Free Library recently. It’s now installed in our front garden, was painted by my other half, co-host (and cartoonist extraordinaire Tim Reedy) and is bringing joy (and books) to the neighbourhood.

The idea is people take books, leave books (if they can), swap books or simply browse the single shelf and see if there is anything they fancy reading. We've received a steady stream of adults and children's books and I must say, everyone loves it, especially kids.

I love it too, and can’t stop raving about it. Fortunately, I don't have to go into detail here as I've written some pieces that explain it further. I wrote this for Metro and this blogpost, which talks about the serious message of promoting literacy among adults and children, for the Little Free Library project’s website.

Please do support the little libraries. They're not there to replace public libraries; they're simply another fun way of giving people access to books.  If you fancy hosting your own library, contact the Little Free Library Project website as they're building them all over the country now.

I just text my friend to tell him I'm loving this blog I've just found.. then I got to this post- you live on his road!
He said he took a book the other day.

I remember first walking past your little library and thinking it added a nice community vibe to the road :)

Aww how nice. And isn't it weird that everyone lives in Walthamstow?!
